LAST DANCE OF THE SUGAR PLUM REVIEW!

HELLO FRIENDS, I HAVE MY REVIEW OF LAST DANCE OF THE SUGAR PLUM BY CLAIRE DAVIS AND AL STEWART, AND THIS IS AN AMAZING BOOK INDEED! LOOK BELOW FOR MY REVIEW AND THE BUY LINK! LET'S GET TO IT!

THIS QUOTE APPLIES, TRUST ME! HERE IS WHAT I THOUGHT OF THIS BOOK!

Last Dance Of The Sugar Plum
by: Claire Davis and Al Stewart
reviewed by: Becky

TICK-TOCK-TICK-TOCK-TICK-TOCK

Jonathan is a spy.

Anton is Jonathan's 'keeper'.

Jonathan is a spy with a code implanted deep in his subconscious, so deeply he can't remember - anything at all.

Anton is an interrogator intent on retrieving the code, whatever the cost.

But sometimes they dream of dark tunnels and locked-up rooms, and then they both scream.

TICK-TOCK-TICK-TOCK-TICK-TOCK

Along comes Harry, who seems to have all the answers...but who is he, and which side is he on?

TICK-TOCK-TICK-TOCK-TICK-TOCK

Bang!

For many months, Jonathan and Anton live apart from the world in a hazy, dreamlike state, only interrupted by interrogations and a healthy fear of HQ. One day, they watch a dance performance, and memories begin to unwind... A ticking clock... Betrayal... Missions... Always the scent of oranges. But with clarity, comes a return of powerful emotions...

Last Dance of The Sugar Plum is an exciting spy thriller with as many twists and turns as a maze.

Oh how I love the writing team of Claire and Al, you will forever be astounded by what these two can come up with, and believe me that is a very good thing!

We get to know Jonathan and Anton and what they mean to each other, and how they fit together. Jonathan is a spy and Anton is his keeper, and these two will keep you on your toes and not knowing what to expect next for sure!

Along comes Harry and where he fits in the story will keep you guessing till the end, who is good? Who is bad? Will these guys get what they want, both personally and professionally?

I don't so spoilers so you will have to read and see, but I can promise you will enjoy finding out all the answers! Thanks Claire and Al for another amazing book!

                                                the 5 maze rating :)

BOOK INFO AND BUY LINKS:

The Roosevelt, Book 2
Some heroes wear capes. Some prefer sensory sacks.
Emmet Washington has never let the world define him, even though he, his boyfriend, Jeremey, and his friends aren’t considered “real” adults because of their disabilities. When the State of Iowa restructures its mental health system and puts the independent living facility where they live in jeopardy, Emmet refuses to be forced into substandard, privatized corporate care. With the help of Jeremey and their friends, he starts a local grassroots organization and fights every step of the way.
In addition to navigating his boyfriend’s increased depression and anxiety, Emmet has to make his autistic tics acceptable to politicians and donors, and he wonders if they’re raising awareness or putting their disabilities on display. When their campaign attracts the attention of the opposition’s powerful corporate lobbyist, Emmet relies on his skill with calculations and predictions and trusts he can save the day—for himself, his friends, and everyone with disabilities.
He only hopes there isn't a variable in his formula he’s failed to foresee.

NOW FOR MY REVIEW!

THIS QUOTE IS SO TRUE, NOT JUST FOR THIS BOOK, BUT FOR EVERYONE!
I was so excited when I found out this book was coming out! Emmet and Jeremey's story was so profound in Carry The Ocean, so I just knew this book was going to be something special, and boy was I right!
This book is so well researched and written that you just sail through it and enjoy every second, and reading it will open your eyes to the nightmare that the Mental Healthcare System could become. Emmet fights for his rights and the rights of Jeremey and their friends, not without obstacles, but always with courage!
You will rejoice and hurt right along with these characters, trust me! You know me, I don't give spoilers, but you guys have got to read this book! It is amazing just like any other book written by this author!
the five Blues Brothers rating! :P

THIS BOOK DESERVES NO LESS THAN A FIVE BLUES BROTHERS RATING! :D BELOW IS AN EXCERPT AND TEASER!
My boyfriend, Jeremey, thinks the moon looks like a watermelon.
He said this the night we visited my aunt for Christmas. My aunt who lives in Minneapolis, not the one who lives in Ames, though Althea was there that night too. Aunt Stacy has a telescope, and she let me use it to show Jeremey the moon up close. I was listing the names of the seas and craters when he told me what the moon reminded him of.
“It looks like a watermelon.”
I tried to work out how the moon could be similar to a watermelon, but I couldn’t do it. “Jeremey, it isn’t even green.”
“But it has the lines across it, the same as a watermelon, and they all come from a single point, the stub where the stem would have been, leading back to the rest of the plant. See? That spot there. The bright one at the bottom.”
He let me use the telescope again. I still didn’t see a watermelon. “That’s Tycho. It’s a crater.”
“Like the toy company?”
“No. The toy company is spelled T-y-c-o. This is T-y-c-h-o, for the Dutch astronomer. It was seventy percent likely formed by the asteroid 298 Baptistina, which they used to think was the same one that made the dinosaurs go extinct, but then they found out it wasn’t.”
“It will always be a watermelon to me now. But I’ll remember the stem’s name is Tycho.” Jeremey leaned on my shoulder, gazing at the moon without the telescope. “I didn’t realize there were so many seas on the moon. I didn’t think it had any water.”
“It doesn’t on the surface. Solar radiation burned all the water off, but they thought it might be in lunar rocks. Surface ice has been discovered recently, however.”
“Why do scientists always look for water on the moon and other planets?”
“Because it’s the essential element for any human habitation. Unfortunately, so far lunar habitation isn’t looking good.”
“But they have all those seas on the moon. Does that mean it used to have water?”
“No. Those are lunar maria, basaltic plains. The early astronomers thought they were ancient seas, but they were in fact formed by ancient volcanic eruptions.”
Jeremey settled his head more heavily on my shoulder, listening, and so I kept talking. I told him about the lunar dust, how it covers the surface and comes from comets hitting the surface, five tons of dust rising and falling every day. How the dust takes ten minutes to land.
Jeremey shook his head. “What do you mean, ten minutes to land? That’s how long until the dust hits?”
“No. It hits, then rises, but because there’s so little gravity, it takes five minutes for it to rise and then five minutes to fall back down. Which means the moon has on average one hundred and twenty kilograms of lunar dust rising one hundred kilometers above the surface at all times.”
“Wow. You know a lot about the moon.”
I knew a lot more than what I’d said so far, and when I told him this, he asked to hear the rest. We sat there for another hour, me telling him everything I knew, until my voice was scratchy and I needed water. He went inside and got some for me, and then he talked while I drank it.
“It’s so weird to think the moon has all those seas but no water. The names are so pretty. I almost prefer the Latin ones because they’re so mystical. Mare Nubium. Though Sea of Clouds is nice too.” He hugged his arms around his body. “Are there places on Earth called seas or oceans without any water?”
“They call the deserts sand seas, sometimes.”
“That sounds sad, though.”
He swayed back and forth, and I rocked and hummed with him because I was so content.
Then he spoke once more, his voice quiet. “I heard your mom talking inside. About The Roosevelt. Bob is worried about money.”
I stopped rocking, but my insides felt jumbly the way they always did when this subject came up. The Roosevelt was the place where Jeremey and I lived, and Bob was the man who owned it, the father of David, one of our best friends. “David would tell us if something serious was wrong. Bob’s having a fundraiser on New Year’s Eve.”
“Your mom is worried it won’t be enough. Not with the budget cuts the state is proposing and the way they’re restructuring the mental health system as a whole.” Jeremey hugged himself tighter. “I don’t want to lose The Roosevelt.”
I didn’t want to lose The Roosevelt either. I didn’t think it was a good idea to worry, though. “Why don’t we wait to talk to David. There’s not much we can do about anything up here on the roof. We should enjoy the moon and think about how slowly the dust is rising and falling.”
We did exactly that, and I noticed Jeremey relaxed. The next time he had something to say, it was about the moon, not about fears of losing our home. “Sometimes we say people have seas of emotion. What would sea of emotion be in Latin?”
Mare Adfectus. And sand sea would be Mare Harenam.
“I like sand sea in Latin better. But mostly I enjoy hearing you tell me all about things like the seas of the moon. Even if they are salt.”
“Basalt isn’t salt. It’s silica.”
“Can you tell me all about basalt and silica?”
I could, and I did.
Most people don’t want to hear me talk about the things I know, but most people aren’t Jeremey. He doesn’t mind that I’m autistic. He says it’s one of his favorite things about me. He says sometimes my autism is the best medicine for his depression and anxiety, which was why we’d gone up to the telescope in the first place. Jeremey was anxious in my aunt’s house, and he’d been depressed for a few days as well, he’d told me. He’d been depressed more often than not for several months now, in fact, and it didn’t matter how they adjusted his meds or how often he went to see his therapist, Dr. North. Depression, and sometimes anxiety too, kept getting the better of him. I wondered if it was because he was worried about the rumors we kept hearing about The Roosevelt being in trouble, though it was hard to say with depression. It could be for no reason except because depression eats happiness.
But Jeremey said when we sat together in the moonlight and I told him all the facts about the moon and basalt, he felt better.
Jeremey and I have been boyfriends for over two years now. We’ve lived together for most of that time in The Roosevelt. Neither of us is okay to function in the world alone, but together and with the help of our friends and family, and the staff at The Roosevelt, we’re independent and happy.
Except that night with Jeremey wrapped in a blanket and arranged carefully in my arms, I decided I didn’t want to be quite so independent anymore. I wanted to keep Jeremey with me, to take care of him and to let him take care of me. I wanted to be dependent on him. I wanted him to be there to tell me the moon looks like a watermelon and then ask me to talk for another hour about basalt. I wanted to do everything with Jeremey, forever. This is a special kind of thing between boyfriends, when you feel this way. This meant I wanted to marry Jeremey.
With people on the mean, coming to such a realization would be simple. I would have bought a ring, asked him, and we’d have gotten married. But I’m not a person on the mean, and neither is Jeremey. And when I made the decision to marry Jeremey, it was only December. There were so many changes about to happen, earthquakes coming because the world wasn’t content to let people such as Jeremey and me simply enjoy the next step in our happy ever after. Not without a lot of complications.
This story is about how we undid those complications and got ourselves the rest of our happy ever after anyway.

NOW TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT IS COMING UP FOR THIS SERIES: I AM SERIOUSLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS!!

What’s Coming Up Next in the Series

Originally my intent was for The Roosevelt to be a three-book series, with David’s story being second. I struggled to write his story, however, and when I tried to write a short Christmas story for my patrons last year, I realized my problem: Emmet and Jeremey had more to say. I thought perhaps I could get away with writing their continuation as a novella, and at first I tried that. Then their story grew longer, as stories do, and as the mental health crisis in Iowa became worse, I realized there was so much more to say all around.
I think now what will happen is that at the very least there will now be a Roosevelt universe, with Carry the Ocean and Shelter the Sea being books one and two of the Oceans books, and then there being some kind of third book (maybe, finally, a novella or short story?) and then we move on to David. I’m not sure who the third book is about—I thought I knew, but I’ve decided to stop pretending I know what’s going on and simply show up and see what happens as this seems to be the better strategy, as when I drive things only get messed up. Needless to say, there will be more books coming. And more residents moving into The Roosevelt.

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING! HERE IS AN EXCERPT FOLLOWED BY MY REVIEW LINK!

Jack had an odd expression on his face, but he was usually moping around about something or another. He was just too sensitive. That was why it was good that Nick was there to take care of him.

Nick combed his hair in the small mirror that hung above the oak dresser across from the bed. He double-checked to make sure that his face was shaved clean, and he rolled up his sleeves to not only combat the heat, but to hide the frayed cuffs. Satisfied, he set the comb down on the dresser and glanced over at Jack sitting behind him on the edge of the bed.

He peered up at Nick, his sweet eyes shaded by a hint of melancholy. “Do you love me, Nick?”
Oh Jesus. “If I didn’t, would I go to all this trouble to bring us here—to take care of you?”
“I know, but…you just never say how you feel about me. Sometimes I wonder if someday you’ll just get tired of me or something.”

Fuck. Why now? Nick sat next to Jack, and put his arm around his shoulder, giving him a few little jostles.  “Come on, Jacky boy. You’re my man, and that’s all that matters between us. We don’t need none of that sugary stuff to prove how we feel. Didn’t I give you a real good time last night?” Jack nodded, but he wouldn’t meet Nick’s eyes. “Now we gotta go out there and get us some jobs today.”

Jack turned to look at Nick. “Are we in trouble? Is the money running out?”
“Jee-zus!” Nick jumped up in a fury. “What is it with you and the money all the time? Just shut up about it. You don’t think I know what I’m doin’? You think you can do better? Huh?”

Jack’s lower lip started trembling and somehow that made Nick even more furious.
“Goddammit, Jack. Everything’s okay. I just need you to quit moonin’ around me all the time and start takin’ things more seriously. It’s time to get ready to take over Hollywood.”

He poked Jack a little, trying to get him to smile. Nick was finally able to get a feeble one out of him but that was it. Nick sighed. He didn’t have time for this nonsense. All he was trying to do was protect him. He wished Jack could see that.

NOW FOR BOOK 2: RAZZLE DAZZLE ( YOUR ARE GONNA WANNA HURT SOMEONE IN THIS BOOK LOL)

Jack is on the verge of silent film stardom, but Hollywood glory won’t heal his broken heart. A seductive screen idol and a conniving starlet create even more havoc in Jack’s troubled life and he places his trust in all the wrong people. Will a love that borders on obsession finally bring Jack true happiness?

AT 2.99, THIS BOOK IS A STEAL, AND SO AMAZING!! HERE IS A TEASER FOLLOWED BY MY REVIEW LINK!

He’d had a release, and yet Roman still felt a longing. It was Jack. Everything for him anymore had to do with Jack. He needed him.

Roman whispered very close to Jack’s ear, “If we were alone right now, I would feed you that dessert off of my fingers.”
Jack looked shocked for a moment, then smiled. “Roman, you are being bad.”
“Am I?”
Jack licked some chocolate off his lips. “Very.”

BOOK 3 IS TARNISHED GLITTER, AND THIS ONE WILL SPLIT YOUR HEART WIDE OPEN FRIENDS! LET'S TAKE A LOOK:

The pressures of being on the silver screen and being the lover of a demanding movie idol are difficult for the sensitive Jack to handle, and Roman’s increasingly erratic behavior only adds to his stress. Unwanted attention from other men and a startling revelation from movie star Trixie Fox adds to Jack’s confusion. All he’s ever wanted is true love, so how can he give up on Roman and the star’s promises of forever

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING! HERE IS THE TEASER AND MY REVIEW LINK SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT I THOUGHT OF IT!

“Ah, so my sweet Jack wants to be teased. I can assure you that I am up to the task.” Roman sidled up to Jack, and wrapped his arms around him, whispering in Jack’s ear. “I shall torment you all through dinner.”

Jack would never be the cultured and refined gentleman that Roman was, and Roman would always have the need to be pampered and surrounded by luxury… It was possible that they could survive together, and that was what Jack determined he would focus on from then on. Be grateful for the moments like this, and endure the ones in between. It was better than being alone.

The pain wasn’t the same as it once had been. It was still there, but had taken on a duller form… Jack had told the director that there was something inside him that he never wanted to let out again. André had looked at him with true sadness.
“I won’t force it out of you, Jack. You have to be ready to allow it to flow through you. Then it will no longer have any power.”

BOOK 4 IS STARRING ROLE, AND THOUGH THIS BOOK IS SAD IN PLACES, THIS IS LIKE A COMING HOME FOR JACK, SO HE MAY FINALLY GET HIS HEA! HERE IS THE BOOK INFO AND LINKS FOR STARRING ROLE!

Right as Jack feels that his future is looking brighter, a terrible tragedy occurs. But out of his despair, a new hope is born. Jack is given a second chance—one he never would have thought possible. As Jack’s blissful new life unfolds with his lover by his side, an unexpected visitor from the past threatens his new-found peace.  It’s time for Jack to make his final choice.

OH MAN HAVE YOU GOT TO READ THIS ONE TOO! HERE IS A TEASER AND THE LINK TO MY REVIEW!

Nick couldn’t stop himself from staring at Jack. He was different. He spoke differently and carried himself with more confidence. He was no longer a scared kid. His face still radiated a sweet innocence, with eyes that shined the palest of blues. Combined, it was like an eternally youthful angel who had lived for millenniums.  He’s beautiful.

Jack never told himself that he had the life he’d always imagined. Because how could he have imagined something so incredible when he’d never even known it existed?

NOW FOR  BOOK 5: THIS ONE HAS A BSDM THEME,  AND IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND!  STUDIO ORDERS IS JUAN'S STORY, AND IF YOU HAVE READ THE SERIES UP TO NOW YOU ARE MORE THAN READY FOR THIS BOOK! HERE'S THE BOOK INFO AND LINKS FOR THIS ONE!

The head of Global Pictures Studios, Vincent Franklin, promised Jack Stone that he would take care of Jack’s loyal driver, Juan. But for a dominant man like Vincent, Juan’s natural submissiveness causes him to long for much more from the shy young man.

NOW FOR A TEASER AND MY REVIEW LINK! MAN I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!

With Vincent, it was the need to please him—to be everything for such a good man. A man he was certain would protect and cherish him. “You are in my care, Juan. I’m responsible for your well-being, and this is something I know you need.” Those words made Juan shiver every time he recalled them.

Sleep was impossible despite the cloud of exhaustion weighing him down. Vincent had him curled against his body, Vincent spooning him from behind. The older man’s gentle snores filled the room, a wonderful melody to Juan’s ears. How long? How long had he wished to be held like this?

NOW WE ARE UP TO BOOK 6 WHICH IS CASTING CALL! I KNOW I SOUND LIKE A BROKEN RECORD BUT THIS BOOK IS TERRIFIC TOO! HERE'S THE BOOK INFO AND THE BUY LINKS!

Will Carmichael, an impossibly handsome silent film star, longs for the broodingly intense director André Chenard. But as they take the tentative steps toward true love, an outside threat drives a wedge between them. As a result, they may have more to worry about than lost love—the threat could be to their very lives. Can they find their way to each other despite the hidden perils of the prohibition era?

THIS IS WILL AND ANDRE'S STORY AND IF YOU ARE CAUGHT UP ON THE SERIES YOU ARE ON PINS AND NEEDLES FOR THIS ONE, IF NOT BUY THE SERIES AS A WHOLE BECAUSE YOU WILL WANT TO READ THEM BACK TO BACK, AND THE PRICE IS RIGHT TO DO SO!! HERE IS A TEASER AND MY REVIEW LINK:

A part of Will wanted to be insulted that André was telling him what to do, essentially, ordering him to do his film instead of the other. But he was actually quite flattered that André believed that much in him. And as much as he was loath to admit it, he also found himself somewhat aroused by André’s actions.

André had to admit that there were sides to himself that he hadn’t realized were there either. Sides that made him want to demand that Will give himself over in every way possible—sexually, emotionally and spiritually.

NOW WE COME TO THE LAST BOOK IN THE SERIES, AND I WILL TELL YOU THE TRUTH, I WASN'T SURE I WOULD LIKE THIS ONE, SEEING AS IT'S ROMAN'S STORY AND HE WASN'T THE NICEST PERSON IN EARLIER BOOKS, BUT MORTICIA IS SO GOOD AT PEELING AWAY LAYERS OF HER CHARACTERS THAT ROMAN REDEEM'S HIMSELF! HERE IS THE BOOK INFO AND BUY LINKS:

Former screen idol, Roman Pasquale, struggles to survive in Hollywood as the silent film era comes to a close. But a fresh new playwright is in town and he wants Roman to be more than just his star. Is their lust really love? Or will the drive for success destroy any hope they have for a happily-ever-after?

HERE IS A TEASER AND THE LINK TO MY REVIEW OF PLAY ACTING!

From the moment that Roman had met him, he’d sensed that Max was different. Max met him at the same level, didn’t back down, gave as good as he got. Their spark had been immediate and it had awoken a need from within Roman he thought had been destroyed. The need to love.

The elevator doors closed and Roman hit the button for the tenth floor. Dropping both his overcoat and the box of pastries, he then whirled around, grabbed the lapels of Max’s suit jacket then shoved him against the wall. Max’s back hit it hard and his mouth parted in a gasp, his coat falling to the floor as well. Using that as an invitation, Roman clamped his lips onto Max’s and explored his mouth freely.

HANS HIRSCHI RELEASED HIS LATEST NOVEL, LAST WINTER'S SNOW TODAY AND IT IS AMAZING! I JUST HAPPEN TO HAVE BY REVIEW LINK :) I WILL INCLUDE IT AFTER THE BOOK INFO AND EXCERPT!

This is the story of Nilas and how he navigates life, trying to reconcile being gay as well as being Sami. Set over several decades, we follow Nilas and his Swedish husband Casper, as they build a life amid the shallows of bigotry, discrimination, and the onset of the AIDS crisis.

Last Winter's Snow portrays recent LGBT history from a Swedish perspective, from the days when being gay was considered a 'mental disorder' to today's modern anti-discrimination legislation and the move toward equality. It's also the story of one couple and the ups and downs of everyday life in the face of changing rules and attitudes toward them and their relationship.

Last, not least, it's a book that celebrates the rich history and culture of the Sami and their land, Sápmi, as well as their ongoing struggle to achieve recognition and win back the right to self-determination over lands they've lived on for thousands of years.

Last Winter's Snow is Hans M Hirschi's first novel set almost entirely in Sweden, but it is the second time (after Fallen Angels of Karnataka) he takes his readers on a journey into the mountainous regions of Scandinavia in one of his acclaimed novels.

BEATEN TRACK BOOK LINK

Excerpt:

Sam, the bartender, smiled at him, recognizing one of his regulars, and asked him if it’d be the usual.
“Yes, a large beer, please!”
Beer in hand, Nilas proceeded farther into the bar to find a place to sit or a familiar face, but the bar was oddly empty this time of day. Well, maybe traffic will pick up soon, Nilas thought and sat at one of the tables overlooking the street. At least this way, he would be able to follow what was going on outside.
His attention was focused on the whitish foam on top of his glass, while he nursed thoughts about the lecture he’d attended today. As part of their engineering curriculum, the students were also encouraged to study a humanistic subject of their choice, and Nilas had chosen a series of seminars about philosophy. Today’s lecture had been particularly interesting, as the professor had introduced them to the work of Danish philosopher Kierkegaard and his existentialism.
It resonated strangely with Nilas, who pondered the path in life he’d chosen and what he’d do, given that he firmly rejected any notion of the Christian god in his life, which, according to Kierkegaard, would be man’s final stage in life, to live in accordance with the laws of the Christian god.
It made him think about his family’s beliefs. The traditional gods of the Sami were closely tied to every aspect of their life, ruling over the heavens, mountains, waters, and forests. When the Swedes had conquered the land, they had all been forced into accepting the Christian faith. They had all been baptized, or, at least, they’d kept up the pretense. Behind the backs of the Swedes, many Sami continued to pray to their own gods and sacrificed to them, as they always had, although animal sacrifices had ceased.
Nilas knew that his father and many of his relatives would never walk by an ancient sacrificial place without leaving a gift for the gods. They respected them too much. Being young and rebellious, Nilas had questioned those beliefs at times—not only the faith forced upon them by the Swedish colonists and rulers, but also his own people’s. Kierkegaard wouldn’t have been pleased. At all.
“Hey! Is this seat taken?” Nilas was startled by the question that suddenly woke him from his philosophical reveries. He looked up to see a young man standing there, tall and slim in stature, with shoulder-length, straight, rye-blond hair, bright-green eyes, and a beautiful, dimpled smile. He looked expectantly at Nilas.
“No, go ahead. Have a seat,” Nilas responded almost automatically, intrigued why this stranger would want to sit next to him when he could’ve chosen any other empty table in the bar. How very un-Swedish.

The guy stretched out his hand. “Hi, I’m Casper. You looked lonely. I figured you might want some company.”

BEC'S RELEASE DAY REVIEW OF LAST WINTER'S SNOW

LAST DANCE OF THE SUGAR PLUM IS THE LATEST BOOK FROM THE AMAZING WRITING TEAM OF CLAIRE DAVIS AND AL STEWART AND IT COMES OUT APRIL 14TH! I LOVE THIS ONE AND YOU WILL TOO WHEN YOU READ IT! BELOW IS THE COVER, BLURB AND A SMALL EXCERPT:

TICK-TOCK-TICK-TOCK-TICK-TOCK

Jonathan is a spy.

Anton is Jonathan’s ‘keeper’.

Jonathan is a spy with a code implanted deep in his subconscious, so deeply he can’t remember—anything at all.

Anton is an interrogator intent on retrieving the code, whatever the cost.

But sometimes they dream of dark tunnels and locked-up rooms, and then they both scream.

TICK-TOCK-TICK-TOCK-TICK-TOCK

Along comes Harry, who seems to have all the answers…but who is he, and which side is he on?

TICK-TOCK-TICK-TOCK-TICK-TOCK

Bang!

For many months, Jonathan and Anton live apart from the world in a hazy, dreamlike state, only interrupted by interrogations and a healthy fear of HQ. One day, they watch a dance performance, and memories begin to unwind… A ticking clock… Betrayal… Missions… Always the scent of oranges. But with clarity, comes a return of powerful emotions…

Last Dance of The Sugar Plum is an exciting spy thriller with as many twists and turns as a maze.

“It’s an honour to meet you, sir.”42 smiled at the aging man, trying to appear meek and respectable. “It will take several days to become familiar with the estate. Of course, I’m fully trained to guarantee safety and security.”
The man smiled in return with no hint of friendliness either in thin lips that twitched or hooded reptilian eyes.
42’s toes instinctively clenched.
“Well, I’m glad you’re here at last. The cameras picked up several anomalies last week.” The target’s voice was shrill and reedy like piss on a toilet bowl. “Marauders looking for the safe, I expect.” His voice rose at the end like an indignant rich old man, but 42 was not fooled.
“Yes, sir, I saw the recordings. Some people will try anything! Please be assured I can and will protect you twenty-four hours a day.” 42 tapped his security badge as if in deference to the bogus company it had taken years—years—to create.
“Are you armed?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Shoot anyone you see. Don’t worry about petty legalities.” His laughter grated around the room in endless circles then stopped abruptly. It was a long time since this man had lost control. “Shoot to kill. Minors and adults alike.”
During the infinitesimal pause, 42 observed the target watching with the same casual intensity as a cat before pouncing on prey.
“Yes, sir!” 42 pushed his shoulders back. “You can rely on us.”
The target reached out to softly touch the security badge on 42’s chest. One bony finger traced the plastic square slowly, leaving behind a faint residue of sweat. 42’s toes clenched and unclenched; however, his grin did not change.
“That’s a pretty thing, young man.”
42 nodded enthusiastically.
“Feel free to have a look around the house then come to my office.” Suddenly his finger was underneath 42’s chin, digging into the soft flesh.
“Yes, sir.”

NEXT UP IS LOVE OF THE GAME BY PHETRA NOVAK AND IT COMES OUT APRIL 15TH! I LOVE THIS BOOK TOO! BELOW IS THE BLURB, COVER AND EXCERPT FOR THIS ONE!

Johannes is starting his new life as a rookie in the best hockey league in the world, the NHL. His new home for the next four years is Montreal, Canada, and he's excited to get to his destination when a storm arrives, stranding him in Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France.

In the hotel lounge, he tries to amuse himself the best he can. He's nursing a lukewarm beer, and about to head back to his hotel room for the night, when the most gorgeous man he's ever seen, with piercing green eyes, buys him a drink. He swears he has never been so instantly turned on as he is in that moment. The man flirts openly with him, making no secret of what he wants from Johannes as he invites him to meet in his room. Not being out only makes Johannes hesitate for a moment before accepting the beautiful stranger's come-on.

Charlie, a cocky and opinionated, ex-submissive and reporter is leaving Paris after being on vacation when the studly jock just happens to appear out of nowhere - served on a silver platter. Charlie sees no reason to deny himself a last rendezvous before he gets on his plane back to Canada.

What he doesn't expect is this stranger to see the real him. Charlie's normal plan of attack is to take charge. But when it backfires, and the studly stranger not only takes control but makes him want more, Charlie does the only thing he feel comfortable doing. He runs!

Excerpt:

Like a jack-in-the-box, the bartender suddenly appeared before him, all smiles and with a fresh beer that was put in front of him.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t order this…” The protest was more a formality than an actual objection. He was ready for a new one, but how could the bartender have known that?
“With courtesy from the gentleman at the other end of the bar.”
Johannes followed the direction of the bartender’s discreetly pointing finger, his breath catching in his throat the second his gaze locked with the most amazing green eyes he’d ever seen. A storm of butterflies erupted in his gut, making all of him tingle, and even if he’d wanted to, he couldn’t look away.
It wasn’t often that he was awestruck by a man’s looks, but this one was such a fine specimen it was impossible to not take an interest. The way those green eyes bore into his, the suggestiveness there, it was clear what was on the table, and that he wasn’t the only one looking.
The stranger’s eyes roamed down over his body like a hot touch, taking in every inch, it felt like. The soft-looking, full lips that were twirled into a cocky smirk rather than a smile made him want to reach over and grab the man by the front of his shirt and kiss that smirk away. The impulse to do just that surprised him.
Hannes, get a hold on yourself. It takes more than a pretty face to get you all ecstatic.
But there was no hiding it. He was excited by the guy and the open proposition on the table, maybe, or solely, because of what Adam had suggested on the phone just minutes ago.
“May I make a suggestion, sir?” the bartender said with a friendly smile.
He already knew what he was going to do. Adam’s words rang loudly in his mind, but to humor him, Johannes nodded.
“Perhaps you should flip the napkin around?”
Johannes made a face, doubt rushing through him. No way had this guy sent him a note on a napkin. What was this? Junior high? “I don’t—”
“Oh, just do it already!” the bartender interrupted, seeming more excited than he should be.
Quirking a brow at him, Johannes flipped the napkin over, and there, written in neat block letters, it said, Meet me by the men’s room. Don’t make me wait!
Johannes snorted out a laugh. Was this guy serious?

(this is so rough it’ll give you splinters)

Jesse Thomas is embarking on the final year of his Bachelor's degree in English Literature, and he's fairly confident he'll get top marks, but it's the only thing he is confident about. In a few weeks' time, he's heading to Cornwall with his best friends, Noah and Matty, and their new housemate Leigh, for a week of 'fun and relaxation'.

As the holiday nears, Jesse's body anxiety escalates. He'll be sharing a campervan with three other people, which will mean getting dressed and undressed in front of them or else squeezing into the tiny bathroom. Then there's the surfing and swimming, and a whole host of other activities that involve showing a good deal more of himself than he'd choose to.

However, it's not Noah and Matty seeing his body that bothers him; it's beautiful, funny Leigh, and Jesse's not the only one having a hard time.

But when Chris suddenly gets the excitement he's been craving, it may just be more than he bargained for.

Gabriel Miller loves his life. He's close to his sister, has a job he adores and is the proud owner of one and a half cats. But all of it is taken away when he witnesses a murder and, to keep him safe, the police place him in Nortown, of all possible locations.

Chris can't believe they're letting someone live in his gran's old cabin in the middle of the winter; it's too cold. When the poor man shows up in his shop looking to buy clothes, Chris's heart melts, despite the freezing temperature. Gabriel notices the way the shopkeeper looks at him, but it can't be right. No one looks at a heavyset man with heat in their eyes. Do they?
