WHEELS UP RELEASE DAY REVIEW!

HELLO FRIENDS, TODAY IS DAY 2 OF OUR HOLIDAY BOOK REVIEW BLITZ AND IT IS AMY'S TURN, BUT IT IS RELEASE DAY FOR WHEELS UP BY ANNABETH ALBERT, SO SHE IS REVIEWING THAT FOR HER TURN! I LOVE THIS AUTHOR AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE AMY'S REVIEW SO LET'S GET TO IT!

LOVE THIS SIMPLE QUOTE! HERE IS AMY'S REVIEW!

Wheels Up
Out Of Uniform 4
by: Annabeth Albert
reviewed by: Amy

Their love is forbidden, but their hearts aren’t listening to rules and regulations…

Lieutenant Dustin Strauss is a reformed man. No longer a twentysomething hell-raiser, he’s his SEAL team’s new XO—and a man with a secret. Or seven. He’s kept his bisexual identity under wraps for years, along with his kinky side and a fondness for the military-themed semianonymous hookup website Joe4Joe. His latest chat buddy is more than a sexy online distraction—they’re taking their very not-safe-for-work relationship into real time.

Petty Officer Wes Lowe has a smart mouth, a take-charge attitude and an uncanny ability for making things go boom. The life of an enlisted man isn’t always enough to satisfy him, but one wild, no-questions-asked weekend with his online love comes close. When a transfer order comes in, Wes feels ready and centered. He’ll make a good impression on his new SEAL team and keep his growing feelings for Dustin on the down low.

But as they log more time online and some very real emotions surface, Dustin and Wes struggle to pretend they’re just a harmless fling. And when his commander introduces Dustin to his team’s newest member, they’re in for the shock of a lifetime…and a crushing disappointment: their difference in ranks means even a friendship without sexual contact could end their navy careers for good.

With their hearts on the line, Dustin and Wes may not survive their next mission, let alone find a way toward a future together.

Every book in this series is just fantastic!!!  This book had so many feels.   Wes and Dustin were just meant to be!

Wes is out to his family and some of his team of SEALs on the east coast.  But when he gets moved to the west coast he has to feel these guys out first.   Dustin isn’t out, no one knows he’s bisexual, not even his SEAL team.   His dad has made it clear he wants him married and have children since younger brother Dylan is gay and won’t be carrying on the family name.  Dustin is scared to say anything.

Wes and Dustin meet through an app and then face to face, but neither know what a crazy ride they are getting ready to embark on.  There are obstacles in their way but love surely can win out, right?

Family health issues, military regulations, missions and meeting on the sly are just pieces of this book that will have you on the edge of your seat.   Annabeth is an amazing writer who brings her characters to life and makes you want to hug them and tell them it will be okay.

the 5 Navy Love rating :)

HOLIDAY BOOK REVIEW BLITZ DAY 1!

HELLO FRIENDS, IT'S DAY ONE OF OUR HOLIDAY BOOK REVIEW BLITZ, AND THE BOOK I CHOSE IS A HOLIDAY BOOK, THOUGH THE THEME IS GEARED TOWARD HALLOWEEN, BUT HEY HALLOWEEN IS A HOLIDAY AND TAKE A CHANCE ON ME IS A HELL OF A BOOK, SO LET'S GET TO IT!

YES, JUST YES, THIS QUOTE IS PERFECT FOR QUINN AND DUKE, HERE IS MY REVIEW:

Take A Chance On Me
Firsts and Forever Series
by: Alexa Land
reviewed by: Becky

Free-spirited ballet dancer Quinn is sure he made a terrible mistake by agreeing to be Duke’s roommate. The big cop is the most uptight person Quinn’s ever met, and both men begin driving each other crazy from day one.

Before long though, an undeniable spark of attraction ignites between them. But do opposites really attract? Or will their differences prove to be more than either of them can handle?

I often wonder how Alexa Land manages to strike literary gold with each book she writes, Take A Chance On Me is another winner for sure!

Quinn is carefree and takes life as it comes, he embraces the odd (and sometimes downright germy :P), and doesn't care what other people think. When he decides to rent from Duke, Cole's old roommate, things get interesting!

Can Duke learn to lighten up and live life his way, not the way other people want him to? If Duke will let him, Quinn could go a long way to helping him,but can Quinn keep from helping when it isn't asked for?

These two will have stumbles along the way, funny, entertaining stumbles, but if they can get it together, it may turn out to be just the right thing for each of them!

Nana  and the gang are back in this one, and you really don't want to miss a second of Take A Chance On Me!

the 5 Dragon Cookie Cutter Rating :)

I DID THIS RATING BECAUSE I WOULD ALWAYS WANT THIS GUY TO PULL MY SLEIGH! (READ THE BOOK, YOU WILL GET IT :p) GRAB IT FROM THE LINK BELOW:

FINDING SANCTUARY REVIEW!

HEY GUYS, HERE IS MY REVIEW OF FINDING SANCTUARY, BOOK 6 IN THE AMAZING HAMPTON ROAD CLUB SERIES BY MORTICIA KNIGHT! LET'S TAKE A LOOK!

BOY DOES THIS QUOTE APPLY TO THIS BOOK! HERE IS MY REVIEW:

Finding Sanctuary
Hampton Road Club Series 6
by: Morticia Knight
reviewed by Becky

Francesco might not know a thing about being a submissive, but for Master Theo, he’d be willing to learn anything.
Living on the streets of 1920s Los Angeles and pleasuring men in dark alleys for his survival is not how Francesco had thought his life would turn out. But he’s filled with the hope that someday—if he learns how to be a respectable fellow—he can make a home for himself and maybe even find a man he really cares for who also cares for him. In the meantime, he hustles to get by and looks for the good where he can find it.
Theo’s existence is safe and predictable. He indulges in his perverse nature at his friend Saul’s sadomasochism club on Hampton Road and negotiates contracts for the Hollywood players and studios. When an enticing little grifter crosses his path one day, the encounter unnerves him. Not because he gets conned, but because the refreshingly open and unaffected young man holds a mirror up to Theo’s own dreary existence. Theo might have plenty of material wealth, but his wealth of spirit can’t compare to the delightful Francesco’s.
Theo rescues Francesco from a dire situation and brings him home. If nothing else, he can at least find the desperate young man some decent employment. Instead, they both find themselves increasingly drawn to each other. But until Theo introduces Francesco to what being a submissive means, he doesn’t dare give his heart away. Francesco has yet to discover the secrets that are hidden behind the walls of the Hampton Road Club.

I have loved every single book in the Hampton Road Series, and a constant in every book is a little fireball named Francesco and his Master Theo. Francesco was a character I wanted to know more about, so this story is very special to me!

Francesco has it rough, he is living on the street doing things for money he doesn't want to do, but bless his soul, his sweet spirit is still in tact. Theo is just going through the motions rather than living, what he needs is a breath of fresh air in the form of his very own submissive, what he gets is so much more!

Can Theo and Francesco make a go of it? Will Francesco see Theo the same way after he learns of The Hampton Road Club and what they do there? All Theo wants to do is keep Francesco safe, will he be able to?

You will love every minute of this story, and the dynamic between these two is amazing! Morticia Knight hit the nail on the head with this one, I will be reading this one again very soon!

the 5 Websters Dictionary rating :P

A BIT ABOUT BEATEN TRACK:

Beaten Track is an independent publisher of diverse fiction and non-fiction. We operate on socialist principles and believe in equality, absolutely.
We are not affiliated to any of the large publishing houses.
All our authors retain full rights and royalties (usually 50% of net profit).
We are NOT a vanity publisher. We also provide, via InRoad Publishing, services to independent authors to assist with the self-publishing process.

PublicationsPublications listed on our site are predominantly published by us on behalf of independent authors, although we may also list publications from other likeminded publishers, respected fellow authors and authors' consortia.

Beaten Track Publishing is a participant in both the Amazon EU Associates Programme and Amazon USA Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com respectively.

Why Beaten Track? The first interpretation of this question leads to an explanation for the choice of name. Quite simply, we've all traversed the beaten track of authorship until our shoes are worn and our legs ache. Independent publishing is freedom from that treadmill and from the control exerted by traditional publishers. That said, we owe it to ourselves to ensure the work we 'put out there' is the very best it can be. This is where Beaten Track can help.

To take the question the other way, why not? If we publish your work, you keep all of your rights. There are no tie-ins for sequels, nor options on things that sound great but may never happen. Whether you're published by us or using our paid-for pre-publication services, you can be confident you and your work will be cared for and treated with respect.

Who / What is Beaten Track Publishing? The company is owned and managed by Debbie McGowan, an independent author by choice, who has experienced both success and rejection at the hands of publishers. In all cases, her hard work didn't pay off financially, and she believes strongly that none of us should surrender our creative freedom in order to attain a publishing deal.

Debbie McGowan is an award-winning author of contemporary fiction that celebrates life, love and relationships in all their diversity. Since the publication in 2004 of her debut novel, Champagne - based on a stage show co-written and co-produced with her husband - she has published a further thirty-five works (twenty novels, fifteen short stories and novellas). She is the author of two ongoing series: Hiding Behind The Couch (a literary 'soap opera' centring on the lives of nine long-term friends) and Checking Him Out (LGBTQ romance). Debbie has been a finalist in both the Rainbow Awards and the Bisexual Book Awards, and in 2016, she won the Lambda Literary Award (Lammy) for her novel, When Skies Have Fallen: a British historical romance spanning twenty-three years, from the end of WWII to the decriminalisation of homosexuality in 1967. Through her independent publishing company, Debbie gives voice to other authors whose work would be deemed unprofitable by mainstream publishing houses.

NOW FOR MY SURPRISE! TWO OF THE BEATEN TRACK AUTHORS SAID A FEW WORDS ABOUT DEB: LET'S SEE WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY!                                    LARRY BENJAMIN: I first met Deb just after the publication of my first book, What Binds Us, in 2011. I joined the Beaten Track family in 2013 when Deb agreed to publish my third book. Her faith in my talent, her guidance, her expertise in all things publishing has been invaluable.                                                                                                                                                                  HANS HIRSCHI: "Can you write a few sentences about Deb, please? Easier requests for writing I’ve seen…                                                                                                                                        How does one describe the “boss lady”, my publisher, editor, and friend, in a “few sentences”? I could try to start out with a few words that come to mind: fierce, stubborn, workaholic, insanely talented, caring, devoted, socialist… Debbie isn’t easily described. I remember our first interaction online, a shy request to translate something to Swedish for her, for one of her characters from her Hiding Behind the Couch saga. Not sure how she’d found me on Twitter and why she’d approached me, but yeah. After that, things happened quickly. We talked and talked, I translated a couple of sentences into Norwegian with a friend from beyond the border and then we were suddenly on course for a meeting in London.                                                                                                             We found each other that day, or rather the night before, drinking away at my hotel and eating horrible food at a Jamie Oliver restaurant nearby. Remember that, Deb? That was 2014, very early on. Less than a year later, after she’d edited my fourth novel and slapped a label on me that I’m still carrying proudly, I began to publish with Beaten Track, and we’ve never looked back since.                I trust Debbie with my (artistic) life, and I know it’s in good hands, as she preserves my artistic integrity, allows me to go where my muse takes me, from Sci-Fi, Erotica, short stories or contemporary writing. No questions asked. Her editing is always gentle to the artist’s fragile soul, preserving my voice, but spot on, accurate and to the point. And like a mentor, she’s always there to answer questions, help us with marketing or other publishing/writing related queries.                       We don’t talk very often. Debbie’s super busy and I try to stay clear as much as I can. Give her space to work on her own writing, her own amazing talent. But when we do talk, a few times every year, it’s usually for a couple of hours or more. It’s like two twin souls joining for tea and crumpets, sitting in front of a fireplace in comfy PJs. Those days are usually the best.                                       Next spring, the Beaten Track family plans a get-together near her home in Burscough. I can’t wait to meet the rest of her rag-tag band of authors, and seeing all the other amazing talent she’s gathered around her fireplace. I picture lots of tea and plenty of crumpets being needed… Thank you, Debbie, for everything you do for us, fully aware that words, even from a seasoned author, can never do you justice."                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          OK THAT MAY HAVE MADE ME TEAR UP A BIT! DEBBIE DESERVES ALL OF THAT PRAISE AND MORE! SO THANK YOU DEBBIE, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, FOR BEING AN AMAZING AUTHOR, DEVOTED PUBLISHER, GENTLE EDITOR, AND MOST OF ALL AMAZING FRIEND! I LOVE YOU AND I LOVE THAT YOU ARE ALWAYS WILLING TO BE MY GUINEA PIG! BY THE WAY......:p
THANKS FOR JOINING ME FOR DAY 6 OF BEATEN TRACK WEEK, DEB WILL FORGIVE ME EVENTUALLY :p SEE YOU GUYS TOMORROW FOR THE WRAP UP POST!

BEATEN TRACK WEEK DAY 5: OPTION 4 REVIEW!

HEY GUYS, IT IS DAY 5 OF BEATEN TRACK WEEK AND I HAVE MY REVIEW OF THE AMAZING OPTION FOUR BY JON ELIOT KEANE FOR YOU TODAY! LET'S HAVE A LOOK:

THIS QUOTE IS PERFECT, IT IS ONE OF MANY LESSONS DONN LEARNS IN THIS STORY! NOW FOR MY REVIEW:

Option Four
by: Jon Eliot Keane
reviewed by: Becky

It's 1997, and seventeen-year-old Donn Carhart wants to come out. There are four ways it could go: reject, tolerate, accept, or they'll say 'me too!'

But his parents don't like gay people, and he doesn't know any other gay kids.

After meeting Alex, an openly gay transfer student, and learning a little bit about gay history in the United States, Donn starts the Acceptance Project club at school. The club is about addressing discrimination, and it draws a lot of student members, including Thad - the most popular guy in his class, who just so happens to be Donn's crush.

After Donn comes out, a group of parents try to shut it down as a 'gay club' - a danger to their children and the community. With his family, community, and classmates pushing back on his decisions, will Donn push forward or will he opt out?

Donn is 17 and he is at a crossroads of sorts in life, he wants to come out but he is hesitant, and his parents are at each others throats, so he begins to write in a notebook, and we get to see Donn evolve in this book through his musings!

Donn has a crush on Alex, but will it go anywhere? When Donn starts the Acceptance Project at school, there are those that want to see it fail, will it, or will Donn win more than just the right to keep his club open?

This is a story not only about one young man and his life, but a story about courage and sticking to what you believe in, and everyone can relate to that right?

This book is amazing and I can't wait to see what Jon Eliot Keane comes up with next, I know I will be first in line to read it!

DISEASE RELEASE DAY REVIEW!

HEY GUYS, I AM BACK WITH PART 2 OF DAY 4 OF BEATEN TRACK WEEK! I HAVE MY RELEASE DAY REVIEW OF THE AMAZING BOOK BY HANS HIRSCHI, DISEASE: LET'S TAKE A LOOK:

THIS QUOTE IS PERFECT FOR THIS BOOK: NOW FOR MY REVIEW:

Disease
by: Hans Hirschi
reviewed by: Becky
release day review

When journalist Hunter MacIntyre is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's, he realizes that his life is about to change, not to mention that he's been handed a certain death sentence.

Alzheimer's is a disease affecting the patient's loved ones as much, if not more, than the patient themselves. In Hunter's case, that's his partner Ethan and their five-year-old daughter Amy. How will they react to, and deal with, Hunter's changing behavior, his memory lapses, and the consequences for their everyday lives?

Disease is a story of Alzheimer's, seen through the eyes of one affected family.

I am going to start this review by saying that it is amazing when the author has the talent to make us feel a story as we are reading it, the pain, the fear, the good times and the bad, they are all experienced as well as read. Hans Hirschi does this to me in every book he writes, and this one was no exception.

Hunter finds out he has the early onset of Alzheimer's and he is devastated, not only for himself, but for his partner and his young daughter. How will this family handle the change this disease brings to them?

This is a story of courage, family and the power of love. I won't do spoilers, but have your tissues ready, because like any other Hans Hirschi book, this one will go straight to your heart!

                                               the 5 "Elysian Fields" rating

HEY FRIENDS, AS PROMISED FOR DAY 4 OF BEATEN TRACK WEEK, I'M HERE WITH MY RELEASE DAY REVIEW OF PS BY CARAWAY CARTER, I LOVE THIS NOVELLA SO MUCH, LET'S TAKE A LOOK:

BOY IS THIS QUOTE PERFECT FOR THIS STORY! HERE IS WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT PS!

PS

release day review!

Looking back, it was kind of crazy to put a down payment on a fallen-down train depot I'd never actually seen, in a state I'd never actually been to, and use it to build a life with a guy I'd never actually met, but love makes people do crazy things. If you've ever been in love, you know what I mean.

But before the plane had landed, I found out that Sam - the guy I'd met online and had been talking to for four years - wasn't really Sam. He wasn't even a guy.

I already own the little train depot, and I can't go back to my old life. And Fairville is such a lovely welcoming town. Did I mention James? He's made sure that I've had a really warm welcome.

All I want is to build a great little bookstore, and have a relationship based on humor, honesty, and hardbacks. I see some tough choices ahead of me.

Or maybe I don't have to choose...

Sometimes a character comes along that you just want to give a great big hug and cuddle to, well Gus is that character for me! I love sweet Gus and everyone who 'meets' him will to!

Gus followed his heart to Vermont and bought a rundown train depot sight unseen, and all for a guy he never met. It would have been fine if said guy was..well even a guy! What will Gus do now that he has a depot to renovate and no one to share it with?

James has beat himself up for years for something that happened in his past, will meeting Gus help him turn a corner and believe in love again?

This is a book about finding a beautiful thing in the ruins of a bad situation, and Caraway tells this story so well you will believe you are in Vermont with James and Gus! Grab PS today, it is a very special story you will not soon forget!

the five Project Semicolon rating :)

SO HERE IS MY POST ABOUT HANS HIRSCHI AND CARAWAY CARTER!

HANS HIRSCHI

BIO:

Hans Martin Hirschi has been writing stories ever since he was a child. Adulthood and the demands of corporate life efficiently put an end to his fictional writing for over twenty years. A global executive in training and channel development, Hans has traveled the world and published a couple of non-fictional titles. The birth of his son and the subsequent parental leave provided him with a much needed breathing hole and the opportunity to once again unleash his creative writing.

Having little influence over his brain's creative workings, he simply indulges it and goes with the flow. However, the deep passion for a better world, for love and tolerance are a red thread throughout both his creative and non-fictional work.

Hans lives with his husband, son and pets on a small island off the west coast of Sweden.
