TRAINING COMPLEX BY LETA BLAKE REVIEW:

HEY THERE FRIENDS, I HAVE ANOTHER GUEST REVIEWER FOR YOU! MARINIEVES CORDERO-GUZMAN IS GONNA TELL US ALL ABOUT TRAINING COMPLEX BY LETA BLAKE! THIS IS THE SEQUEL TO TRAINING SEASON AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR MARI TO TELL YOU ABOUT THIS ONE:

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL QUOTE MARI! HERE IS HER REVIEW:

                                       Training Complex  by: Leta Blake
                                                        reviewed by: Marinieves

Buckle up - Matty's back!

Figure skater Matty Marcus didn't capture Olympic gold, but he won rancher Rob Lovely's heart.

After Rob sold his ranch and Matty hung up his skates, they started a new life together in New York City. Now Matty has taken on a fresh challenge as a figure skating coach, and Rob's second career as a physical therapist should be everything he's dreamed of. But in the brutal heat of their third summer in the city, Rob yearns for the wide-open country, and the intensity of city life awakens Matty's demons.

Matty asks for increasingly intense BDSM scenes, and his disordered eating and erratic behavior ramp up the stakes. Rob struggles to stay in control, and after a well-intentioned anniversary gift goes awry, he still thinks he can handle the fallout. But the concrete jungle is closing in and his coping skills are unraveling.

Their love is deep, but Rob will have to admit the truth about what he really wants before they both tumble into chaos.

Let me start by saying I am a fan of Leta Blake's work. Training Season is one of my favorite books.

When the opportunity arise for me to be able to review Training Complex, I couldn't believe it.  Thank you Bec and Bike Book Reviews for that.

The story of Matty and Rob is one of love. Nothing else. Just plain old love,  but  with it comes the struggles of making the relationship between them work.  Two different personalities,  desires and needs.

Matty is a really complex man and Rob is a really thoughtful one. This combination is unique but works in the dynamic of their lives together.

That said their journey to become all they wanted was not an easy one. The help and support from the people in their lives was important. One of the reasons I love the book so much is that inclusion of secondary characters to give Matty and Rob their chance to happiness. Ultimately, that was always their goal.

the 5 north star rating :)

BEAUTIFUL REVIEW MARI, AND LOVE THE RATING PIC! HERE ARE THE BUY LINKS AND THE GOODREADS LINK FOR YA:

GRAB THIS ONE FRIENDS, YOU WILL BE SO GLAD YOU DID, I AGREE WITH MARI, I LOVE LETA'S WORK! HERE IS A SHORT EXCERPT FOR YA:

Sometimes he wished he’d never confessed his homesickness to Bill one night when Matty was out with Elliot, and he’d been sitting on the front stoop with a sixth beer, sick and tired of the hubbub of the city. He’d moved to New York to be near Ben and Anja. It’d been his secret hope to run into Matty there. Then, in what had felt like a Matty-designed miracle, he had, and Matty loved the city. In fact, earlier that week was the first time Matty had ever said anything about New York that wasn’t pure ecstatic, unconditional love.
“Yeah, I miss the sky,” Rob said. “The stars at night. Hell, I miss the mooing of the damn cows and the fucking rooster waking me up every morning. But Matty loves it here.”
“Matty loves you. He’d go wherever you went. You know that.”
Rob didn’t know that actually. He liked to think it was true, but Matty was very ambitious. Whitefish, Montana would never give Matty the widespread recognition he craved. But, Rob had to admit, neither would New York City. It was a quandary.
“I want him to be happy. The city makes him happy.” Rob rubbed his thumb over his eyebrow and watched as a woman with a toddler walked by, both with dripping ice cream cones.
“Does it really now?”
“I don’t know. Who the hell knows? We’re just in a tough place. We’ll get out of it.”
“Good luck, buddy. I wish I had something better to offer. If you need some money, the bar is doing okay and I could—”
“No. Like I said, we’ll make it.”
“Just promise me you’ll come on home if things get too bad over there. I worry about you and the kid.”
“I know you do.”
After that, Rob talked to Bill about the bar and asked after Angus before he disconnected the call. He didn’t know what he’d been hoping for. Some kind of comfort. Some kind of home.
