CLAUDIA PICKED THE PERFECT QUOTE FOR THIS ONE! HERE IS HER REVIEW:

The Altered 2 (Lycanaeris) by: Annabelle Jacobs
                                                                reviewed by: Claudia

A remote farmhouse in Cornwall seems the perfect place for Ash to settle into his recently altered status. Starting a new life there with Sam—the shifter he can’t stay away from—should be easy this far from London where they faced so much danger. So why does adjusting seem impossible?

Sam has issues of his own. He has to get used to his human form again after living the last eight years as a wolf. It’s hard when human worries weigh so heavily on his shoulders. Life is much more straightforward from a wolf’s perspective, until Ash needs his human support.

Ash’s problem is simple: he’s fearful of shifting fully. How can he believe he won’t hurt Sam when his genes were altered to create a killer? Despite repeated reassurance, his anger and resentment increase. Only one thing is certain: if Ash can’t learn to trust himself soon, he’s in danger of proving himself right.

I was impatiently waiting this book’s release since I read the first one. I simply HAD to know more about Sam and Ash!
I was intrigued by Sam since the first time I saw him… I wanted to know what happened to make him decide not to change back from his wolf, and how he would deal with the fact that he couldn’t seem to keep himself away from Ash.
Ash had no idea that his friendship with Daniel and Matt, both altered, would put him in the middle of a war. A war between the altereds and the humans… A war that would change his life forever…  Because now he was an altered too and he was having a hard time dealing with it.
How would Ash deal with all the changes happening inside of himself? And how come he couldn’t take Sam out of his mind? Especially now that he knew Sam could and had changed back… and more important… he had done it because of Ash…
Wow, this story was a great sequel to the first book and it was wonderful to see these two finally giving themselves to the attraction shimmering between them.  I really had a blast reading it.
If you loved the first book, you can’t miss this one!  Thank you Annabelle for a great read and Thanks Bec for allowing me to review it.

NOW HERE IS A SHORT EXCERPT FOR YOU GUYS:

“Ready to head home?” Keira shifted back to human in the cover of the sand dunes and quickly pulled on her clothes.
That was one good thing about it being early April—hardly anyone on the beach. The weather was still cool enough to keep the hordes away. Sam liked it when the others shifted into their wolves and ran with him. It made him feel more like a member of their group, more so than when he was human. He didn’t know why, but having another wolf beside him felt like home.
He wanted Ash to shift, was desperate to see his wolf. Sam knew Ash could do it if he’d only try, but Ash had flatly refused so far. He said he was scared to, but Sam knew what he meant—he was scared in case he ended up being stuck as his wolf.
Like he thought Sam had been.
Sam yipped at Keira when she was fully dressed and looked back up the hill in the direction of the farmhouse.
“I’m coming, give me a second.” She waited until he sat down, made a show of doing up her jeans, then quick as a flash she shot past him and ran up the hill.
Sam growled as Keira’s laughter trailed behind her, and he gave chase.
They ran all the way back to the farmhouse. Sam hadn’t been paying much attention to those inside, too busy nipping at Keira as he loped past her. Everyone else was in the kitchen, and when the two of them burst through the door—Keira still laughing—the silence that met them stopped Sam in his tracks.
He glanced around the table, taking in the serious expressions, until his gaze landed on Ash.
“What the fuck happened?” Keira walked over to Charlie and slipped in beside him. “Well?” she tried again when no one seemed willing to answer.
Sam was glad she was doing the talking because he was desperate to know why Ash appeared to be sitting apart from the others. Charlie sat next to Matt on one side, now with Keira in between them, and Jordan had Daniel tucked into his side opposite them.
Ash sat at the far end of the table, with his chair pushed back a little. Sam padded over to him and rested his head in Ash’s lap.
“Hey.” Ash smiled as he looked down, but it was tentative and didn’t make Ash’s eyes crinkle like his smiles for Sam usually did. Ash slid his fingers through the fur on the back of Sam’s neck, and Sam felt the slight tremble in Ash’s hand.
He lifted his head, scenting the air around them, and the faint trace of salt on Ash’s skin made his hackles rise. Ash had been crying.
Sam angled his body so he shielded as much of Ash as possible and turned to face the others around the table. He growled, the sound building slowly from his chest until he let it out through bared teeth.
Ash flinched, his hand tightening in Sam’s fur. “Sam, no.” He sounded so desperate as he tugged to get Sam’s attention. “Stop. It wasn’t them. It was me.”
“Will one of you explain why you all look like someone died?” Keira demanded, staring pointedly at Charlie. “Please.”
Charlie held up his hands. “Don’t look at me.” He then gestured at himself and Matt. “We were in the barn the whole time.”
“Ash attacked Daniel.” Jordan glared over at Ash as he spoke, fangs bared, and Sam was on his feet in an instant.
He snarled at Jordan, warning him to back the fuck away right now. Ash would never hurt Daniel. Jordan had to be mistaken.
“He’s right,” Ash said. His voice was so miserable and broken; Sam was forced to believe him.
