THE BROKENHEARTED NECKLACE IS A REAL GEM!

The Brokenhearted Necklace: Brokenhearted Boy            (Vol 1 - Book 1) (That Which Was Lost)

by: A.M. Snead, review by: Becky

Haunted by a disturbing memory of brutal intolerance, Lonny struggles to deal with being the only gay kid in his school as he suffers daily from the ridicule and taunts of Quarterback Jack Flemming and his group. Condemned even by his own father, Lonny feels alone and cut off, his only solace in the brokenhearted necklace he wears that carries with it the reminder that things could be so much worse. Wanting only to be invisible, and hiding his heart, Lonny is suddenly drawn out of hiding by Paul - the gorgeous new kid at school - who insists that Lonny is the boy of his dreams, the answer to his prayers.

This is the latest offering from the great A.M. Snead, and this one is such a keeper. You have the angst, and the promise of a happy ending that are present in almost all of her books, and this book is Book 1 of a series, so we will have to wait for closure, but this book is epic. In fact this was the first gay romance the author wrote, and it was written a couple of years ago, I am so glad she published it! This is a story about a boy who knows exactly who he is, and is punished for it, the depth of character and raw emotion in this book will reel you in with a quickness! You will be weeping with Lonny, cheering for Paul, and rooting for a happy ending just like I was! Great job as always A.M., wouldn't change a thing! *5 Stars*
